Land Under Conservation Easement

The Middle Park Land Trust has accepted the donation of over 50 Conservation Easements on 5,435 acres of land.  This means that the original landowners still own and use their land, but the Land Trust holds a Conservation Easements which restricts development on their property.  For more information on Conservation Easements, click this link to see how land can be preserved.

The Middle Park Land Trust works with other state and national land trusts to help preserve the scenery, agriculture, wildlife and biodiversity in Grand County.  There are over 25,000 acres of land in Grand County under Conservation Easement.

Some of the landowners who have a Conservation Easement on their property have agreed to allow their pictures to appear on this web page.  It is also the landowners' choice whether or not they allow public access on these pieces of private property.
